Warm flour tortillas stuffed with slices of rroneek chuck marinated in Thanalan spices and grilled to a smoky char over desert thornwood coals. Best eaten with your hands.

Moqueca110 gil

A creamy, spiced stew made with fish traded through the Ul'dah markets, simmered in coconut milk and Thanalan peppers. The recipe came through the southern trade routes and stayed because it earned its place.

Thin slices of rroneek chuck from the Central Thanalan herds, seasoned with desert salt and slow-roasted for hours over low heat until the meat falls apart on its own terms.

Freshly squeezed from navel oranges grown in the sunbaked groves of Eastern Thanalan. Sweet, tart, and cold if you catch it early enough.

Sour lemonette juice from the Thanalan hillside groves, sweetened with golden honey harvested near the Halatali ruins. Simple and effective.

Kaffee35 gil

Dark-roasted beans ground fresh and brewed strong, no frills attached. The kind of cup that gets you through the rest of the shift.

Coerthan tea leaves steeped in boiled yak milk, prepared the highland way. Imported at cost and served to anyone who wants something heavier than desert water. An acquired taste.

Fine-ground tea leaves whisked into hot water, imported from Hingashi through the Ul'dah trade routes. Bitter, precise, and the kind of thing someone either orders every time or never.

Brewed from tiny yellow chamomile flowers picked in the Thanalan lowlands at dawn. Fragrant, calming, and a good thing to hold when you have nothing else to do with your hands.

Finding the Den

The Dusty Den sits in Desert Alley, a narrow passage between Pearl Lane and the Sapphire Avenue Exchange in the lower levels of Ul'dah. The alley runs through the working district where most of the city's commerce happens outside the scrutiny of the Syndicate's preferred vendors. It is not a place people wander into by accident, and the people who do find it tend to know what they are looking for.

The bar itself is small. A counter, a handful of tables, a board near the back wall where jobs and rumors get pinned when someone has something worth sharing. The drinks are honest, the food is Thanalan, and the door stays unlocked for anyone the Sand Court considers welcome. If you have been pointed here, someone already decided you belong.
